![]() I was going for Deluxe because I never really ended up doing a whole lot more in the expansions besides using extra objects. Like how NPCS slow down when you hover over them, you don't see their name, you have to actually turn lights on and off/replace light bulbs (still present in the console releases interestingly enough).Īnd they like, bounce around while standing still and hum specific songs sometimes that they don't after expansions are installed. It's interesting the small things that are different on original no expansion. It's good enough for the time being till I get this straightened out. So I've got a functional no expansion version for now at at least lol. And I copied the gamedata/sound files from TSD onto there. So all I did was right click the ISOs when it said to insert each disk each time and hit "mount." I'd already hit mount on the first iso before and then hit it again end of installation, could this be related?įor now, I just downloaded that regular sims 1, you know that one basically all the sound is missing. I used daemon in the past but apparently that installs malware no matter what. Though I may have messed something up with the virtual clone drive. (Let me know if anyone has any problems, hope this works for everyone) EXE file in compatibility mode and as administrator. (Default is Program files x86/Maxis/TheSims.) Copy and replace the Sims.EXE file from the downloaded patch file, with the original one installed from the Discs. And within your chosen game install location.Once downloaded, unzip in a seperate folder of your choice, within you should find the folder named Deluxe, inside here is the sims.EXE file you need to finally run this specific version of the game.zip' (the 1st one listed in the description) Now, in the description of this Youtube vid- you want to download the 'The Sims 1 almost all no-CD Patches in one.Insert disc 2 then disc 1 and finish install.Run the setup and install using the serial code found on the back of the manual (For some reason for me, once the menu opened up after 5 mins the install bar was froze at 0%, clicking cancel once under the small bar then brought up a confirmation box to cancel out, the disc then began spinning up and installing (Just click no to the cancel now and let it install. It could have just been really slow to start idk). The only setting that worked for me was to run as administrator and in Windows 8 mode! After trial and error numerous times, right-click on setup.exe, go to properties, then onto the compatibility tab.Instead, open up the folders within the disc, go to setup and find setup.exe Insert disc 1, do not use the autorun program.Hi all, this is my first post and whilst trying to install TS1 Deluxe Edition on my laptop I could not find a specific post walking through how to both install from the discs AND play in one place, I got it working today without using a Virtual machine but just by following these steps:
